I posted the "Sicka Cicadas" video on this very cool website for up and coming directors and actors.  I think it is run by Will Ferrell, so he is on there a lot.  If you go to www.funnyoride.com/kathyashworth, you can go to the website and vote (hopefully funny).  There are lots of funny things on there - my friend and actor Robyn told me about it.  It's always good to laugh!

I played the Bluebird Cafe on Wednesday which was super fun!  If you ever get a chance to go there (it's in Nashville, TN), you should go!  It is such a cool place.  It is really quiet so people can hear every word of your songs.  That can be nerve-wracking, too!!  I played with Neil Medley, Paul Nielsen and Jackson Wells.  It was "in the round" which means that the performers sit in a circle in the middle of the room and go around the circle trading songs (kind of like a campfire without the s'mores).  I love going there and being a listener, too!  I think there is just something so cool about hearing the songs sung by the writers who wrote them.  The best part for me was when I played "Sicka Cicadas" and people cheered after the first chorus. I always dreamed of having that happen - never knew it was would happen on a song about bugs!  Hey, I'll take it!

I had so much fun in St. Louis!  It began early Friday morning when I went to the Cornbread Morning show on 92.3 WIL.  They had me billed as a surprise for one of the d.j.s.  It was really fun.  I got to sing the song, too, and they all were singing along - that was so cool!  I love it when people know the words to my songs, even if they're about bugs!!!!  Then I went to Fox 2 news to be on the morning show with Tim Ezell.  He was really nice and was eating cicada ice cream while I was playing!!  Here is the link:  http://search.fox2now.com/default.aspx?ct=r&q=cicadas
I then taped a 4pm segment at Fox 2 News and then drove back to Nashville.  Short but fun!!

Today I embarked on my St. Louis, MO world tour.  I drove about 5 1/2 hours from Nashville to St. Louis so I can be here for my big morning tomorrow - need to go to bed soon!  I will be on 92.3 WIL tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. on the Cornbread Morning Show and then on Fox 2 News' Morning show with Tim Ezell.  Very cool!  I work at a lot of radio remotes where I take artists around to various radio stations - this will be really fun to be the artist!  Too funny!  I don't have to wear black unless I want to!!  By the way, I didn't have time to go shopping but that's probably better anyway!

I just got asked to come to St. Louis, MO to be on Fox 2's morning show with Tim Ezell.  I will play "Sicka Cicadas" live.  I am very excited!  Now I have to figure out what to wear (and of course I am already thinking how I can get to St. Louis with enough time for me to find the H&M there and go shopping)!!  We may have to fit in a Cardinals game to even things out!!

Hi!  Well, we're still on this cicada journey!!  They are really bad in Missouri and other states, too, so the video is still popping up on news channels and radio stations!  It has been so awesome to be able to share this song with people and I love that people are sharing it with their friends! There are a lot of people who are sicka cicadas! Anyway, it is really cool to have the public hear my music, even if it is just a silly song.  I think on You Tube we have gotten almost 31,000 hits!!!  Keep on sharing!!!  That is so cool!

Yesterday I had the fun of being interviewed by Angie Bianchi of the Examiner.com, an on-line independent music website.  She was very nice and easy to talk to.  It's a really cool site with lots of great articles.   Anyway, to read her article, click on (or paste) the link below.

I woke up this morning to my friend Dan's message telling me that "Sicka Cicadas" was playing on the radio at 650 am.  He held up his phone to the radio so I could hear it "on the radio."  That was cool!  Hmm, I need to start investigating other bugs and things I could write about!  Snakes?  Maybe a mosquito song is on the horizon!  Anyway, "Sickca Cicadas" is now on i-tunes!  Yay!!
