Ok, so it has been really hot here in Nashville.  I'm just saying!  I know it has been super hot in many places around the country!  With that out of the way, I will say that things are marching along!  I am heading to California to visit friends/family and also play a super fun show in Santa Rosa, CA (Doc Holiday's Saloon) in the beautiful Sonoma Valley.  It will be a full band show!  I'm so used to acoustic shows, so this will be cool!  I also just found out I have a song on hold with a major label artist, so keep your fingers crossed!  Oh, I started an artist page on Facebook, so please go to www.facebook.com/kathyashworth and "LIKE" me (I really hate doing that!).

My friend and co-writer Eric Paslay has his first single out as an artist called "Never Really Wanted."  It is a great song he co-wrote with another awesome writer and mentor, Walt Aldridge.  Eric just heard it on the radio for the first time yesterday.  I am really excited for both he and Walt.  I think it will be a smash!

Check out Eric on a song we wrote called "Sugar"  which I know is a hit for someone out there!

On July 2nd I went to the U2 concert in Nashville, TN.  It was awesome!  One of my favorite parts was when a guy in the front row of the mosh pit got pulled up to play guitar.  I didn't know this at the time, but he was holding a sign that said, "Blind guitar player..."  Anyway, as the band was bowing and waving goodbye (after 3 hours and one encore), Bono kneels down and says, "what do you want to play?"  Then security guards help this guy up on stage and he proceeds to play as Bono sings.  After the song, he hands the guitar to Bono and Bono gives it right back to him.  That was so cool!  I could only imagine how cool that was for him!  I used to dream that I was backstage at a Go Go's concert and Belinda Carlisle lost her voice and I got to fill in for her.  I think I even wrote a paper about it in school!  Anyway, I love U2 and think it is amazing that Bono totally gets his responsibility as a public figure with a huge audience.  He really tries to make a difference around the world and can also make a difference in a fan's world as well! That ROCKS!
